A/Prof. Christian Osadnik

Associate Professor Christian Osadnik is the Founding Director and Head of ResPTlab. He is Director of Research in the Department of Physiotherapy at Monash University, and brings almost 20 years clinical, research and academic experience to the team.

Dr. Osadnik has been the recipient of over $3.4M in research funding, has over 60 peer-reviewed publications, and has given more than 50 conference presentations. He is an Editor for Cochrane Airways, Co-ordinator of Cochrane Airways Australia and an active contributor to the scientific field, particularly via the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand where he has been a prior Victorian Branch Executive Committee member, Physiotherapy Special Interest Group Convenor and Scientific Committee member. Dr. Osadnik completed post-doctoral research fellowships with the European Respiratory Society (2014-2015) and Lung Foundation Australia (Boehringer-Ingelheim COPD Fellowship) (2016-18) to further his research interests in acute respiratory care and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Dr. Osadnik’s research priorities are focused within the field of evidence-based, clinically-oriented respiratory and rehabilitation medicine. Particular areas of interest include the management of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute exacerbations of chronic respiratory disease and pulmonary rehabilitation. His research expertise spans a range of methodologies including clinical trial design and implementation, quantitative statistical analysis techniques, instrument validation, systematic reviewing and qualitative research.
